The Matrix Frame is a modular commercial audio system. The key feature of this system is how easily the number of audio zones can be increased in the future to cater to a growing venues needs. Its flexibility, expandability and the number of ways the system can be controlled provides a very powerful audio distribution solution. The system has been designed to be controlled from where ever the client needs control over the audio system, hence there are no controls on the front of the frame (which may live 'back-of-house' somewhere in an equipment rack). The functions of the frame (Source selection, Mixing, Volume, Bass, Treble, Infrared Control, etc.) are all remotely controlled over a multi-drop RS485 communications bus. Any number of control panels can be added to the system in the location best suited to the operator and programmed with the appropriate functions for that location. Controls can include push buttons, paging consoles, time clocks, motion detectors, Auxiliary contact inputs even 3rd party control systems with touch screens etc.

The Matrix Frame also provides the ability to dynamically link up to 8 audio zones in any combination. Making it ideal for large function and conference centres that have rooms which can be divided into different combinations. Control panels can even be 'locked out' under certain room combinations or if control is only required from a main point like the 'Bio-Box'.

The Matrix Frame is designed into a 3RU 19" Euro Card Frame and has capacity to hold 4 input cards (up to 32 Mono Sources) and 8 Auxiliary card (up to 32 Audio Zones). Currently there are 2 types of input cards available and 4 types of Output cards;

INPUT CARD OPTIONS

One- 8 Mono Balanced Input Card. Has jumper selections between Line, Microphone or Aux levels on each input and individual trim pots to adjust the gain of each input to achieve a good balance between the sources.
Two - 4 Stereo Unbalanced Input Card. Line level only with individual trim pots to adjust the gain of each input to achieve a good balance between the sources.

OUTPUT CARD OPTIONS

One4 x Mono Balanced Zone Card. Provides INDIVIDUAL source selection and mixing and Volume, Bass and Treble to each Balanced output. Each output connects directly to a Balanced or Unbalanced Power Amp suitable rated to the number of speakers in that zone.
Two 4 x Stereo Unbalanced Zone Card. Provides INDIVIDUAL source selection and mixing and Volume, Bass and Treble to each Unbalanced output. Each output connects directly to an Unbalanced Power Amp suitable rated to the number of speakers in that zone.

Three 8 x IR Output Card. Provides the ability to transmit most common IR commands (40Khz, non-cyclic) and provides 8 outputs which can be individually addressed for control of source equipment. IR codes are programmed and learnt by connecting to the PC programming software.

IR code playback is then available from any control panel.
